Dancing

A couple weeks ago we went to Fred Astaire Dance studios in Va Beach. We had a great time at our complimentary dance lesson. Afterward we sat down with the instructor who tried to get us to sign up for $900 in dance lessons. The next day I ordered a DVD off of amazon for $25 including shipping.

Last night we cleared out a space upstairs to try and practice. We had enough room to try about 8 steps and that was it. We took advantage of what we had and feel very comfortable with the individual moves. We need more space to practice dancing to our song and being able to flow with the music. The front yard, which would be plenty of room, is out. The chances of us being carried off by mosquitoes is very high. My next thought was to get some sidewalk chalk, a measuring tape and going to the big parkinglot by my work, we can turn up a car stereo and map out a 24×24 ft square (the size of the dance floor at the Hilton) and practice. We should be out there this weekend if not sooner practising. I think it will work out.

We met with Rev. Keener today to talk about the ceremony. Everything went really well, we have some homework, we have to pick out two readings and a psalm. We also need to decide if/who we want to read, or if we want Rev Keener to read. We will get it figured out.

Counceling

Today we met with a nice lady at the Southside Counseling Center. Rev. Keener does not do Premarital counseling, and suggested this group in Chuckatuck. We had one 30 min session, and the stamp of approval. Much easier than a 6 week class and a book to read. After being together for as long as we have we get along great, we have developed ways to deal with conflict through talking and working it out.

Parties

Last weekend Jessica and I each had trips to take. I was off to Morgantown, West Virginia for my bachelors party, and Jessica was off to Pennsylvania for a bridal shower.

I had a blast with my buddies, it wasn’t until afterwords that I realized that 10 out of the 11 of us were in Boy Scouts, and 7 of us made Eagle. We went out in the evenings and Saturday we went Whitewater Rafting! It was cold but we had a great time. The guides were awesome, and I should have some pictures up on flickr by this weekend. I am very lucky to have such a great group of friends, you guys are the greatest.

Jessica’s shower went great, she really enjoyed spending time with her family. She went out to a bar to watch her cousin’s friends band while she was up there. She keeps telling I would like the band and we should get up there more to hang out with her family, which I agree. We had a GREAT time last summer at the winery concert that we went to.

Only 47 day left…

I can’t believe that there is only like 47 days left till the wedding. Well, we sent out most of the invitations the other day. The rest of them are finished. We should be sending them out tomorrow. I went Thursday to have my dress altered. So things are coming together but I can’t help but feel like we are running out of time.

Updates

This weekend we found our favor boxes, they are really great, look for them by the entrance to the reception hall. We are still figuring out exactly what to put in them, but we have some ideas.

Jessica picked up the Brides Maids gowns yesterday. Hopefully most of my guys have been for their tux fittings (if not you need to do it soon).

I picked up about half of the invitations yesterday and started trimming them out. I am going to work on the rest today and hopefully get most of them cut out today. Our goal is to have them in the mail by Monday April 6th. I feel like we can accomplish this, it will be a lot of work but it will be worth it. I love the paper! when you get the invite Let us know what you think.

T Minus 73 days

WOW where does the time go? We are slowly checking things off of the list. The Invitations are designed and the paper has been ordered. We are hoping to get them in the mail by the first weekend in April. We have a meeting with a photographer on Sunday, I think it will go good and hopefully we can check that off of the list. Then we have another meeting with the cake lady to finalize everything next week I think (note to self: check calendar). We are all registered for the wedding, that was a lot of fun. I was like a kid in a candy store, especially at Bed Bath and Beyond. I created a new tab with links to the stores that we are registered at.

We are working on the check list from the DJ, picking out songs for the various events of the wedding.

This passed weekend we asked Rachel to be our Mistress of ceremonies and she said yes! YEA!!!! HELP!!! (lol)

Also this past weekend Jessica’s cousin Susan came down from PA to visit and play with Jessica’s hair. We had a great time it just went by so fast.
